Local Communities

Contributing to Local Communities

Based on its mission to “create a more meaningful society,” the Link and Motivation Group aims to help build a sustainable world by collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including companies, local communities, government agencies and educational institutions.
We help to resolve various social issues through our business activities, placing particular emphasis on activities for developing the younger generation and regional revitalization.

Activities of the Edgeson Management Association

Based on more than two decades of expertise and know-how in human resource development cultivated since our founding, in 2022 we established the Edgeson Management Association, a general incorporated association, to nurture the next generation of leaders drawn from a pool of exceptionally talented and distinctive young individuals. The name “Edgeson” was created as a portmanteau of “leading-edge person.”
Under two core concepts—a business is only as good as its people and human resource development means building society and shaping the future—the association collaborates with industry, government and academia to nurture “Edgesons” with a strong sense of purpose and ambition who can engage others in creating new value.
Emphasizing the decade from the first year of high school to the third year of professional life, which it refers to as the “Diamond Ten,” the association works with industry, government and academia to provide educational programs for students, prospective employees and young professionals. It also studies and evaluates the educational insights gained through this process to be shared externally.
As part of these initiatives, the association offers a wide range of programs including Co-lab-gears, a program for university students, to develop the next generation of leadership; MIRA-GE, a multi-generational workshop for junior high and high school students; and Shigoto-ku, a career education event for technical college students.
The association provided these programs to 3,900 people in 2024 and approximately 5,700 people in 2025.

Life Design Support

With Japan’s declining population due to the low birthrate as well as an aging society, the corporate trend toward human capital management is accelerating. To address the decreasing number of people who will support the economy and society going forward, regional revitalization will be essential, making increased regional engagement an urgent issue.
Link and Motivation aims to help build more appealing local communities by supporting individuals in forging their own paths in life and rolling out successful models nationwide.

Life and Career Workshop in Minano Town, Chichibu District, Saitama Prefecture

We conducted a workshop on taking an integrated view of career and personal life for young working professionals in the Chichibu region.
The event featured a career segment and a life design segment, with Link and Motivation handling the former and IBJ Inc. responsible for the latter.
Our segment aimed to foster a mindset of taking the initiative in career development based on our i-Company concept, which encourages individuals to view themselves as a corporation to proactively shape their own careers.
In addition, a networking session held after the workshop created opportunities for young people in the region to engage in dialogue and build relationships.
Through programs such as these, we aim to cultivate trust in and attachment to the local community, ultimately encouraging people to settle in the region or for people living in urban areas to return to their hometown.
This event was selected as a demonstration project under the “Life Design Support Program in Collaboration with Private Companies” initiative by the Children and Families Agency of Japan. We will continue working with local governments and educational institutions nationwide to create a society where young people can design their lives in a way that remains true to themselves.

Life and Career Design Workshop in Kumamoto Prefecture

In December 2025 and January 2026, Link and Motivation employees participated as instructors in the Life and Career Design Workshop sponsored by Kumamoto Prefecture at Kumamoto University.
A total of approximately 90 university students in the prefecture attended an “Introduction to Life Planning” seminar.
This workshop was designed to give young people an opportunity to think about a future that best suits them. Under the theme of “life design,” it included a lecture covering career paths and lifestyles in an era of 100-year lifespans with explanations of the fundamentals of key life events and approaches to career development. It also included exercises that encouraged students to reassess their current position and consider their future career design.

Partnership Agreement with the Faculty of Education, Kumamoto University

In September 2025, Link and Motivation, Link Interac and Motivation Academia entered into a partnership agreement with the Faculty of Education at Kumamoto University to enhance the quality of education and promote inquiry-based learning.
The agreement covers the introduction of diagnostic tools and engagement analysis, support for inquiry-based learning, and training in English and cross-cultural understanding for students, faculty and parents at the affiliated junior high school of the Faculty of Education. Through these initiatives, we will transform the educational environment.
We will continue to build new education models through industry-academia collaboration and promote them nationwide to contribute to Japan’s future.

Initiatives in the ALT Placement Business

Link Interac, which places assistant language teachers (ALTs) in elementary, junior high and high schools, contributes to society through English education.
In cooperation with the SBI Children’s Hope Foundation, Link Interac operates English camps and conversation clubs for children in foster care facilities across Japan, providing opportunities to broaden their future prospects.
Link Interac also operates English camps in collaboration with local governments nationwide, with more than 80 programs held annually. These camps serve as opportunities to increase children’s interest in and motivation for communication while naturally fostering their foreign language comprehension and expression skills.
Since 2022, Link Interac has also hosted the i-Challenge Contest, an English-language speech contest for students in grades 4 through 6 of elementary school.
By providing personalized support through ALTs, the contest ensures a safe and supportive environment for participation by all children, including those who may feel less confident in English.
For the children who place in the top three of the national competition, Link Interac also develops and supports initiatives to help realize the ideas and aspirations expressed in their speeches.
ALTs also contribute to regional revitalization in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture by promoting cross-cultural understanding and improving English skills through interactions with local residents as part of the English Exchange City Iwakuni Creation Project.

Disaster Response Initiatives

To support those impacted by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture and to aid in recovery efforts, we donated ¥10 million through the Japanese Red Cross Society (total donations to nonprofit organizations in 2024: ¥10 million).

Local Hiring

The Link and Motivation Group operates globally and respects the cultures and values of different countries and regions.
To ensure that our business is aligned with local cultures and needs, Group companies outside Japan proactively recruit capable local personnel.
We recognize that the development of the countries and regions in which we operate is essential to our sustainable growth, and will continue working to create local employment opportunities.
